Speech-Language Pathology in Asia

Can you help?

I constantly receive email regarding Speech-Language Pathology / Speech and Language Therapy in Asia. The email comes from consumers in Asia looking for services for children and adults with communication impairments; members of "expat" / foreign communities in Asia looking for SLP/SLT services in their own languages; researchers trying to contact individuals, professional associations or universities in relation to their research; and recently qualified SLPs graduates wanting to extend their experience by working abroad. I am indebted to, and rely upon, SLP/SLT colleagues throughout Asia for help in keeping this page up to date and accurate. If you can, please suggest sites, provide corrections, and help fill the gaps in the information here.

Please note that clinic sites will not be listed unless they include the names, qualifications (e.g., BSc, MA, PhD) and professional affiliations (e.g., ASHA (CCC), HKAST, ISHA, JAS, KASA, NZSTA, RCSLT, Speech Pathology Australia, SHAS) of the SLPs/SLTs involved.

Disclaimer

Prospective clients should be aware that the inclusion on this page of particular clinics and agencies providing speech pathology assessment and treatment services does not imply endorsement.

Services in English: The Association of Foreign Speech and Language Pathologists in Japan
Marsha Rosenberg, MA, CCC-SLP co-ordinates an ad-hoc group of SLPs/SLTs who accept referrals from the English speaking community in the Tokyo-Yokohama area. The therapists are from a variety of English speaking countries, including Australia, the UK and the US. It is clients' responsiblilty to check, by asking, that their certifications from their respective countries are current. The group collaborates with the Japanese Association of Speech-Language-Hearing Therapists (JAS), but are not part of that association as they are not licensed in Japan to work with Japanese clients. Ms Rosenberg takes initial referrals and performs an intake and screening assessment. She then makes recommendations for further action. She can be contacted by email: This email address is being protected from spambots. You need JavaScript enabled to view it..
